Son of Russell Franklin and Virgie Lee Mayo Murphy Husband of Norma Jean Underwood Harrison 2nd Iva Nell Johnson OBIT: The Paris News, 19 Jan 2001: Carl F. Murphy, 62, of Detroit died Wednesday Jan. 17, 2001 at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Winnsboro to Russell and Virgie Mayo Murphy. He married Iva Nell Johnson Dec. 27, 1977, in Paris. He was a butcher and a farmer. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and the Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Iva Nell; two sons, Mike Murphy of Longview and Pat Murphy and wife, Debbie, of Roanoke, Va.; two daughters, Karla Gilbert and husband, Hank, of Whitehouse and Sandra Walker and husband, Richie, of Hughes Springs; six grandchildren, Bradley Black, J.R. Walker, Shane Murphy, Shelby Murphy, Peyton Gilbert, and Cody Gilbert; three great-grandchildren, Aryn Cheyenne, Christopher, and Zachary Black, and his 87-years-young mother, Virgie Murphy. Pallbearers will be Monte Johnson, Glenn Bybee, S.J. Smith, Keith Wooten, James H. Johnson, and Clyde N. Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Wayne and Jerry Murphy.
