Bio

Cooper Review-January, 1982-Clarence Sims, 86 years of age, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 6, at the Commerce Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30PM at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Johnson, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Internment was made in the New Klondike Cemetery. Mr. Sims had been a resident of Klondike all his life. He was born April 3 1895, the son of John Sims and Winnie Stokes Sims. He was a retired employee of the Texas Highway Department. On May 16, 194?, he married the former Miss Winnie Frances Baxley. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Sims of Klondike; one son, William "Buddy" Sims of Sherman; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Jean Clark and Mrs. Margaret Ann Palmer, both of Klondike; one sister, Mrs. Lois Bledsoe of Klondike; several nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren, Sherry and Tony Palmer, Kim and Lisa Clark, all of Klondike, Dan Sims of Dallas, Susan Smith of Sherman, and Diana Pyzo of North Platte, Nebraska. Pallbearers were Buckner Rainey, Billy Jim Rainey, Joe Rainey, Deon Rainey, J.McDonald and Ernie Brown.
