George A. Mazour Blue Hill resident George A. Mazour, 80 died Wednesday, December 18, 1996, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. A Rosary was Friday night at the Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel in Blue Hill, Nebraska with the Mass of Christian Burial at Blue Hill Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday morning. Father James Schrader was the officiant. Delores Kimminau was organist and Vicki Sharp was song leader. Selection included “Amazing Grace,” “Be Not Afraid,” “The King of Glory,” and “How Great Thou Art.” Dave Heilman, Alan Miller, Scott Peshek, Don Mazour, Ed Pavelka, and David Jarosik were pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Dreasman, Mike Smidt and Rick Smidt. Interment was at the Blue Hill (Catholic) Cemetery. Mr. Mazour was born August 19, 1916, to B.G. and Eva (Hubl) Mazour in Lawrence, Nebraska. On October 19, 1937, he married Emma A, Jarosik in Deweese, Nebraska. They farmed near Pauline. In 1980. they retired and moved to Blue Hill. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Blue Hill. Survivors are his wife; one son. Raymond of Blue Hill; two daughters Georgia Schiefelbein of Hastings and Judy Garrelts of Tulsa, Oklahoma: one sister, Julia Pavelka of Lawrence; nine grandchildren: and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be given to the family.
