Bio

Funeral services were held here Thursday, Feb. 18, for Mrs. Edwin Joe Peters, 29, of Houston, the former Karen Rae Neiser, who died Feb. 16 of cancer. She had been ill since May of last year. She entered Methodist Hospital at noon Feb. 15 and died at 2 the following morning. Services were held at St. Michael's Catholic Church and Hubbard Funeral Home here, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Rev. Henry O. Rolf was principal celebrant of the concelebrated mass. Rev. William F. Halata and Rev. George J. Olsovsky were concelebrants. Rev. Albert Beck, Rev. Don Schwarting and Rev. O. B. Kahlich were present in the sanctuary. Pallbearers were Tommy Brasher, James Heger, Bill Hoegemeyer, Ernest Hollas, James Horak, and Joe Untermeyer. Mrs. Peters was born here April 6, 1941, the daughter of Emil C. and Willie Jo Olsovsky Neiser. After graduation from Weimar High School she attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas, Austin. She was married to Mr. Peters Jan. 4, 1964, and they have made their home in Houston since then. They have two children, Mike, aged 6, and Mark, aged 2. Mrs. Peters was active in St. Francis De Sales Parish in Houston, teaching in the parish's Confraternity of Christian Doctrine program and working with the Dominic's Guild of the Catholic women's organization. She was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary of Certified Public Accountants, the KJZT, and the Bud and Blossom Garden Club. Surviving in addition to her husband and children are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil C. Neiser of Weimar; two brothers, William Charles Neiser of Austin and Paul Henry Neiser of Houston; and a sister Mrs. Joseph J. Pesl of Houston. Weimar Mercury, Thursday, February 25, 1971
