Daniel URBAN Greenslade was born on January 7th, 1876, in Mississippi, probably in Chickasaw County, where his parents, Thomas W. Greenslade and M. Ellen Shaw lived during the 1870 and 1880 censuses. He was the fifth of ten children. Between 1881 and 1882, his family moved to Texas.
