Alva Estelle Price was born on August 7, 1901, in Anderson, Texas, her father, Spencer Newton Price, was 28, and her mother, Cynthia Evelyn Williams Price, was 24. She married Fred Truitt Gober and they had three children together. She then married Hubert Lester Kinabrew on July 22, 1952, in Athens, Texas. She died on September 11, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 65, and was buried in Athens, Texas.
