Bio
Erie English of Mansfield passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in Kennedale at the age of 98. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home. Erie was born on Nov. 1, 1915, in Dallas to the late Samuel and Amy Floyd Peeler. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, doing puzzles and traveling. Erie especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Erie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Amy Peeler; her husband of 41 years, Marvin English Sr.; one son, Marvin English Jr.; three grandchildren, Michael Metcalf, Susan and Shirley Ward; three brothers, Francis Peeler, Eldredge Peeler and Morris Peeler; two sisters, Faye Johnson and Maurine Bond; and three son-in-laws, Harold Skinner, Joe Metcalf and Wayne Newman. Survivors: Those left to celebrate her life are daughters, Lynette Ward of Altus, Okla., Jane Skinner of Mansfield, Arlene Metcalf of Burleson and Katherine Aarons of Hurst; son-in-law, Alton Ward; as well as 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren.
