Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Winstead The Star-Herald, Kosciusko, Mississippi September 3, 1926 Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Winstead died of a stroke in Biloxi, Miss., Friday, August 26, and was buried in Sallis on Sunday. Services were conducted by Rev. W. W. Milligan and Rev. Murff. Mrs. Winstead was a native of Attala County and a sister of the late Dr. C. F. Carnes. She was first married to J. P. Stepp, who died earlier. They had five children, Arthur and Scott are well-known in Kosciusko. She married John Winstead later in life and he survives her. She was a Methodist.
