Bio

Oneta's parents were Urial Roy "Pete" BAGGETT and Arvie Elizabeth BEAIRD. Opal Oneta Baggett, known to her friends as Nicky, passed away April 26, 2011 at the age of 87. She was born Nov. 9, 1923 in Burkburnett, Texas, daughter of Urial Roy & Arvie Elizabeth Baggett. She graduated in 1954 from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. She worked in her later years from 1960 until retirement, as a Nurse Anesthetist, for the old Tidelands, Rock Glen and North Shore Hospital's. She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her life-long friend and companion, Renata Reibel, as well as several nieces, nephews and other dear friends. A visitation will be held Thursday evening, April 28, 2011 at Carter's from 5-8:00 p.m. with services 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2011. Her cremains will be buried in the family cemetery in Burkburnett, Texas at a later date.
