Bio

Mariah Abel Mixon, 85, of Natchitoches, died at her residence at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday following a long illness. She was the widow of Jesse J. Mixon. Mr. and Mrs. Mixon were Winn Parish residents in years past, and Mrs. Mixon was the sister of the late P. K. Abel of Winnfield. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. P. H. Abat of Longview, Texas and Mrs. J. H. Hankins of Natchitoches; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Methodist Church of Natchitoches with Revs. Jolly B. Harper and James Carter officiating. Burial will be in Fern Park Cemetery.
