The Paris News-Friday, May 15, 1992- Charles Leo Gambs, 67, of Corpus Christi, died Friday, May 15, 1992 in St.Joseph's Hospital. Graveside services were at 11AM Saturday, May 16, at the New Klondike Cemetery, with Delta Funeral Home in charge. Born in San Antonio, a son of Ernest & Lillian (Sherwood) Gambs, he was an electronics technician and had lived in Corpus Christi since 1959. He married Docia Jewel Sweat on Feb.4,1954. Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert L. Gambs of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Linda Kelley of Corpus Christi; a sister, Lillian Smith of Del Rio and four grandchildren. Cooper Review-Charles Leo Gambs of Corpus Christi passed away early Friday morning, May 15th at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. Funeral services were a graveside service, Saturday morning, May 16th at 11:00PM at the New Klondike Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Bryan officiating. Gambs was born in San Antonio, May 28, 1924. He was the son of Ernest and Lillian (Sherwood) Gambs. He was an Electronics Technician. He has lived in Corpus Christi since 1959. On February 4, 1945, he married Docia Jewel Sweat. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Docia Gambs of Corpus Chrisit; a son, Robert L. Gambs of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Linda Kelley of Corpus Christi; a sister, Lillian Smith of Del Rio and four grandchildren.
