YOAKUM BUSINESS MAN DIES AT HIS HOME, THURSDAY Frederick Ferdinand "Fritz" Schwab, Yoakum business man and prominent in the affairs of the city for the past 15 years, died at his home in Yoakum early yesterday afternoon after a long illness. He was 52 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Schwab came to Yoakum from Yorktown 15 years ago and was engaged in the drug business. He had many warm friends in the city and was always prominent in movements for the betterment of Yoakum. He is survived by his widow; and one son, Elliott Frederick Schwab. Funeral services will be held at the family home on Coke Street on Saturday at 12:00 o'clock. Reverend William J. Hoebel of the Lutheran Church will officiate. The remains will be sent to Yorktown where they will lay in state at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Korth until three o'clock on Sunday afternoon where interment will take place. A. E. Beck has charge of the funeral arrangements. The active pallbearers are Ed Palmer, Emil Hoch, E. C. Koerth, M. C. Driscoll, W. E. Stapp, W. T. Brian, J. M. Bass, and J. W. Boot. The honorary pallbearers are Drs. E. H. Marek, J. D. Gray, J. W. Hale, R. M. Milner, A. Beckman, H. H. and Harry Brown, and C. L. Kopecky of Yoakum; Dr. Lackey of Cuero, and Drs. H. Eckhardt, Allen Leon Norwerski Sr., Leon Norwerski Jr., and Dr. Cross of Yorktown. Plans are being made to have a special train take Yoakum friends to Yorktown with the body of Mr. Schwab. The train will leave here at one o'clock on Saturday afternoon and will come back to Yoakum at seven o'clock that night. If 120 people will make reservations for the trip, the train can be secured. Anyone desiring to make the trip to Yorktown may do so by phoning Edward Allen Palmer at the Yoakum National Bank.
