Bio
Jake Schorr passed away at home in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Friday, July 10, 2009, following a long battle with cancer. He was 37. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation was held at Eternal Hills Crematory. Jake was born June 1, 1972, in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Andrew and Mary Ann (McLane) Schorr. He grew up here attending Peterson, Brixner, and graduating from Mazama High School in 1991. Jake was active in orchestra from the fifth grade on. Following high school, Jake went into the job corps and later became a chef. He went to Mexico where he taught English. He did so for one year before returning to Klamath Falls; he had planned to return to Mexico to continue teaching. Jake met Beth Mendezes in 1998; the two were married in Reno, Nev. on August 18, 2001. He worked for Pelican Pointe for many years. Jake was a joyful giver and server; he helped teaching Sunday school at Klamath Christian Center. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and liked to watch surfing. Survivors include his wife, Beth Schorr; son, Brandon; daughter, Gretchen; parents, Andy and Mary Schorr, brother, Michael Schorr; his best friend, Josh Tearnan and a grandmother, Ruth Schorr, all of Klamath Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including Matt Schorr. Jake was preceded in death by his brother Andrew Schorr in 2004.
