EVELYN LEWIS 1919-2009 Evelyn Elizabeth (Day) Lewis was born on 12 Mar 1919 in Slocum, Anderson County, Texas to Gilbert Roy Day and Cora Victoria (Betsill) Day. She died on 25 Aug 2009 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Evelyn moved with her family to Brownfield in 1924. She graduated from Union High School and continued her education at Texas Tech. She worked as a bookkeeper for J. B. Knight Hardware and Furniture for several years. Evelyn married R. L. Lewis on 02 Dec 1944 in Brownfield. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband; son, Randy Lewis; parents; and sister, Hazel Eleanor (Day) Gordon. She is survived by two brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
