Bio
Died. In Ezbon township, June 16th, 1881. Mrs. Anton Kindler. She leaves a husband and large family of children to mourn her loss. She was one of the first settlers in that part of the township, and was highly esteemed by all her neighbors, and will be very much missed by them. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Poulson, on Friday, June 17th, at 2 o’clock. P. M. (Jewell County Review, Mankato, Kansas, June 23, 1881) Additional biographical information: The death certificate for Agnes Kindler’s daughter Emma Spies in Linn County, Missouri in 1949 had Agnes’s maiden name as Kreutzel. A marriage license for Agnes’s son Albert in Webster County, Nebraska in 1906 had Agnes’s maiden name as Klottsan. (The license was cancelled and not used.) The Iowa marriage records have an Anton Kindler marrying Agnes Klacel in Johnson County, Iowa on April 3, 1864 (which was several years after the births of the first children of the Anton and Agnes Kindler that were later in Jewell County, Kansas).
