Thanks to MYates Vandver for Parent links. Lubie Whitmire age 83, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, August 18, 2009. Lubie was born in Cleveland on January 10, 1926 to Frank E. and Willie Arona Whitmire who preceded him in death along with his sisters, Irene Holbrook, Savannah Smith, Addie-Belle Bryant and his brothers, Raymond Whitmire, Cammid Whitmire and Ervin Whitmire. Lubie Marvin Whitmire was born on January 10, 1926. He was the 7th and youngest boy of 9 children born to Frank E. and Willie Arona Whitmire. In his later years, 1943 - 1945, he served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Lubie loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Lucille Whitmire; sons, James M. Whitmire, Michael S. Whitmire; daughter, Diana L. Johnston; sisters, Vivian Hightower and husband, Tommy, Gladys Jackson; grandchildren, Jim Bob Whitmire, Keith Whitmire and wife, Geri, Rona Leal and husband, Miguel; great-grandchildren, Tanner Whitmire, Taylor Whitmire, Tyler Whitmire, Devin Leal, Kain Leal; numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2009, Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment, Wells Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson presided over funeral services. Pallbearers included Lewis Hightower, Jr., Robert Hightower, Sammy Hightower, Johnny McAdams, Pat McAdams, Ronnie Whitmire; honorary pallbearer, J.R.
