Record of Burials in Society Hill Cemetery, Mississippi 1938 Page: 20 Number: 756 Note: John Langston Burial Date: Jan. 30, 1938 The Columbian Progress Feb.3, 1938 John W. Langston Oakvale- John W.Langston prominent resident of this community died at his home Saturday, January 29, after a brief illness. Mr. Langston was eighty-eight years of age. Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning by the Rev. Phillips of New Hebron, with interment in the Society Hill cemetery. Mr. Langston is survived by the following children; Obid and Horace Langston, Oakvale, Dr. D. T. Langston, New Hebron, Ben and Clay Langston, Foxworth; Wallace, Leslie and Marcus of Mont Belvien, Texas; Mrs. T. J. Branton, and Miss Mary Langston, Oakvale. Seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild, four brothers, and one sister survive. Obit submitted by; Shirley Fortenberry Ramshur
