His World War I draft registration card described him as tall, medium build, blue eyes and light hair, residence was rural French Lick, Indiana, he was self-employed, and he had a wife and children depending on him for support. It also noted that he had a crippled foot. His World War II draft registration card described him as 5' 10" tall, 180 pounds, blue eyes and brown hair, residence was RR 2, French Lick, Indiana, he was self-employed, contact person was his wife, Carrie. Married to Carrie Slaybaugh on January 1, 1914 in Orange County, IN. The Springs Valley Herald (April 18, 1974) reported "Charles Galloway, French Lick, age 84 died at the Orange County Hospital. Most of his life was spent in the French Lick community where he was engaged in farming, road building and rock crushing work. He also owned and operated the Master-Mix Feed store in French Lick and was a circuit rider minister pastoring several churches. His wife, the former Carrie Slaybaugh, died in 1960. He is survived by two sons, George and Charles Galloway, both of French Lick; four daughters Ruth Cox of Muncie, Edith Freeman of French Lick, Mrs. Harry Condra, R.R. 3 Paoli and Mrs. Leon Haggard of Parker; a brother Floyd Galloway of French Lick; four sisters Alice Morrison of Windsor, Illinois and Lucy Elmore, Gladys Newlin and Pauline Leffler, all of French Lick; 42 grandchildren, and 55 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Brosmer-Drabing funeral home with the Rev. Jewel Dewees conducting the service. Burial was in Ames Chapel Cemetery."
