Bio

Charles J. Meier, was the son of Charles S. Meier, his death certificate does not indicate his mother's name. Charles was married twice, his first wife was Emma Sommerlatte in which he married on Oct. 24, 1895, in Colorado County, Texas. Emma Sommerlatte was the daughter of Friedrich and Johanna "Kulms" Sommerlatte, Emma passed away in about 1914 or 1915. Charles Meier death certificate indicates he was a carpenter, and his father was born in Germany, there is another Charles Meier, Sr., according to a death certificate buried in this cemetery, who was born Sept 27, 1846, birth place Germany and died Feb 9, 1933, this may be Charles J., father. Charles and Emma "Sommerlatte" Meier, were the parents of seven known children. It is not known were Emma is interned.
