James Milton Fox, 82, Brookfield, died Wednesday, Aug 12, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug 17, 2009, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. Gail Brown and Rev. Steve Pinnell officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.Sunday, Aug 16, 2009, at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 that evening. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield. Memorials to Petska Cancer Fund or First Christian Church may be left at or mailed to the funeral home at P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. James Milton was born December 21, 1926, near Rothville, son of James Robert and Alice Ida (McGrew) Fox. He married Arlene O'Dell, May 25, 1955. She preceded him in death September 6, 1967. He then married JoAnne (Hanson) Pinnell, August 6, 1977. James Milton graduated from Mendon High School and attended the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He had worked as a printer for several newspapers and publishing companies in the area and Kansas City. He was a member of the International Typographical Union for 40 years. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of VFW Post 1471, Marceline, and Masonic Lodge, Mendon, for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Jo Anne, of the home; three children, Zaida and Mike Novinger, Shelbyville, Jim Fox, Florissant, and Jeff and Brenda Fox, Overland Park, Kan.; two step-children, Steve and Sandra Pinnell, Hamilton, and Stan and Barie Pinnell, Lyon, France; four grandchildren, Jordan and Brandon Fox and Tenille and Michaele Novinger; seven step-grandchildren, Lindi Dowell, Kansas City, Lisa Tomas, Brookfield, Jim Pinnell, Spartanburg, SC, Tracy Pinnell, Santa Rosa, CA, and Misty, Bill and Erick Pinnell, Plano, TX; seven step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dolores Badham, Salinas, CA, Mary Drange, Prairie Village, KS, Marjorie Vance, Kansas City, and Barbara Koch, Costa Mesa, CA; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Fox; and one sister, Janet Bertsch.
