Add'l info provided by: Kathy Burr LINCOLN — Bernadine E. Czaplewski, 88, of Lincoln died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek with the Rev. Jose Chavez officiating. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Elm Creek. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements. Bernadine was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Loup City to John and Mary (Iwan) Kuta. She was raised in Loup City where she attended Wiggle Creek High School. On Oct. 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph Czaplewski Jr. The couple made their home in Loup City. Bernadine also lived in Elm Creek and Uehling before moving to Lincoln in 2016. Bernadine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and attending family gatherings. Survivors include her children, Joyce Goc of Loup City, Cyndi Horvatich and husband Frank of Uehling, Conni Little and husband Marvin of Lincoln, Geri Meier and husband Morgan of Elm Creek and Ken Czaplewski and wife Amanda of Pensacola, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Sok and husband Richard of Grand Island; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marjorie Zimmer; son, David Czaplewski; son-in-law, Kenneth Goc; grandson, Robert Goc; brothers, James, Gerald and Emil Kuta; and sister, Lillian Klimek.
