Daughter of Rev. Green Boyd Griffin & Mary Melton Griffin. Married John M. Arnold on April 4, 1901. Obituary for Nellie Jane Arnold: Mrs. Nellie Jane Arnold, 86, the widow of John M. Arnold, died on Sunday, October 5, at her home at Old Joe. Mrs. Arnold was born at Leslie on Jan 16,1883, and became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. She was married on April 4, 1901, to Mr. Arnold, who died in February, 1957. Survuvors include three daughters, Mrs. Gussie Berry and Miss Edith Arnold of Old Joe and Mrs. Edna Williams of Hobbs, NM; a sister Mrs. O.C. Loyd of Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including John Miller of Mexico, MO and Noah Arnold of Boulder City, NV, who were reared at the Arnold home. Bro. Carl Davis officiated at the funeral service on Tuesday of last week at the Galatia Methodist Church, near Norfork. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dow Williams, Virgil Killian, Winfred Benbrook, Gene Adams, Douglas Malone and Carl Baker.
