Howard County Herald, Wednesday, Apr 23, 1947, p. 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: John Trubl died Monday Fatal Heart Attack After Dinner Hour at Daughter's Farm Home Was in his 70th Year A severe heart attack Monday afternoon about 1:00 claimed the life of John Trubl, age 70. He and Mrs. Trubl had gone to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Jensen and family north of this city, that morning. He was feeling fine and had partaken with the family a hearty meal and he was especially jovial. He and Mrs. Trubl started for their car to return home. When he reached the gate he was stricken and fell lifeless. Funeral services will be held at the Catholic church here. The date is awaiting word from his only son, Paul, who left by motorcycle on Wednesday for a trip to the South. His destination was to be Florida, but he had no schedule to follow and it is difficult to locate him. Southern radios are being used in an effort to advise him of the father's death. John Trubl was born Dec. 26, 1876 near this city to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Trubl, and passed away at the age of 70 years,, 3 months, 25 days. He grew to young manhood here and prepared himself in the farming vocation. He went to Canada and there obtained a homestead. On January 31, 1908 he was united in marriage to Mary Holechek of Farwell. The ceremony was performed at Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Canada continued to be his home for about ten years. Then the family returned to this county to reside. Last fall he and Mrs. Trubl moved from the farm to this city to take life with less activity. Mr. Trubl's health had not been the best for some time but he was not forced to be bedfast or inactive. Surviving besides his devoted wife are the daughter, Mrs. Carl Jensen and son, Paul; one grandson, Richard Trubl; brothers, Andy and Jacob Trubl, St. Paul, Joe and Frank, Poole; sisters, Mrs. Emil Manasek, Elba, Mrs. John Wall, Ashton, Mrs. Frank Kremlacek Wilcox.
