Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, 17 February 1964 ST PAUL - Frank F. Ambrose, 83, a longtime resident of the St. Paul vicinity, died Sunday night in a hospital at St. Paul following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Keating Mortuary at St. Paul, with the Rev. Willis Patten, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Mr. Ambrose was born Sept. 15, 1880, in Czechoslovakia, a son of Albert and Mary Amborse. The family came to the United States when he was a child and settled in the Midway community west of St. Paul. Following his marriage to Lena Matousek in 1900, the couple moved to Wilbur. Mrs. Ambrose died at Wilber and in 1921 he married Agnes Kaura. The couple lived in Wilber until returning to St. Paul, where he operated a shoe repair shop and later was employed as a painter. Survivors include a son Frank of Grand Island; three brothers, James, Louis and Anton, all of St. Paul; and two grandchildren.
