FRANK BERAN FUNERAL Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church, Monday September 2, at 10:30 o'clock for Frank beran who died at Grand Island on August 29. Mr. Beran had been seriously ill the past 7 months. Msgr. F.L. Sherman offered the Requiem High Mass and officiated at the burial services in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Frank Beran was born in Austria on March 30, 1864 and died at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 29 days. He came to the United States in 1888 and lived in the Deweese and Lawrence communities. He was united in marriage to Mary Hatmonick in 1889 at Fairfield. In 1918 Mr. and Mrs. Beran retired to a home in Lawrence. Mr. Beran working with the Chicago Lumber Company. In 1952 he left Lawrence to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Valentine Svoboda in Grand Island. He is surviven by two daughters, Mrs. Joe T. Hubl of Blue Hill and Mrs. Valentine Svoboda of Grand Island also thirteen grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren. A half brother and sister Fred Maxnar and Mrs. Mary Klauss of Deweese. Mrs. Beran perceded her husband in death, passing away in March 1945, A daughter Mrs. Jacob Petr is also deceased.
