He was an US Army Veteran of WWII who Served in the Headquarters 3 of the 302 Infantry Regiment with the 94th Infantry Division in Northern France, Ardennes, Germany, Luxembourg, and Czechoslovakia as part of Patton's Third Army. (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)
