Johanna Karolina (Lena) Persdotter Strand was born in Wlösa, Västerlösa, Östergötland, Sverige (Sweden) to Per Gustaf Strand (1819-Aft 1900) and Lena Cajsa (Kate) Henriksdotter on 11 Apr 1852. The family lived in Hagstorp, Västerlösa, Östergötland, Sverige (Sweden). While in Sweden, she was the unwed mother of two children: Johanna Mathilda (Tillie) Strand (Gottberg) 1874-? August Albert Strand (Gottberg) 1878-1945 On 25 Jun 1881, she left Hagstorp with her son August Albert. They traveled on the Ship Orlando on 01 Jul 1881, from Göteborg, Göteborg och Bohus, Sverige (Sweden) to Hull, England, then to the USA. Sometime after 1881, she married Carl Peter (Charles) (Charley) Gothberg (Gottberg) (1844-1888), and lived on his farm in Chapman Precinct, Saunders County, Nebraska, USA. They had three children: Harry Franc Gottberg 1884-1958 Jennifer Pauline (Jennie) Gottberg Nielsen 1887-1980 Minnie Amelia Gottberg Johnson 1889-1976 (born four months after her father died) She had one other son, William Allen Gottberg (1892-1978), father unknown at this time. In 1885, her parents and daughter immigrated to the United States, living with the family on the farm. Sometime between 1910 and 1920, she moved from the farm in Chapman Precinct and lived in Weston Village, and passed away in 1928.
