Funeral services for Nathan A. Tankersley, 76, were conducted, Friday at 4:30 p. m. at Austin Street Baptist Church. Rev. A. E. Bunnell, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Dorn Cemetery under the direction of Kiker and Son Funeral Home of Colorado City. Tankersley, a Mitchell County resident for the past 38 years, died in Root Memorial Hospital at 1 p. m. Thursday following a lengthy illness. Tankersley was born in Alabama on Nov. 4, 1884. He was married to Martha Tims in Grapevine on Dec. 24, 1908. They came to this county 38 years ago and had been residents of Colorado City for the past 5 years. Tankersley had been manager of th6 German Hotel, where he resided, for the past few years. He was a member of the Austin Street Baptist Church. Survivors included, the, widow, Martha; a son, Otho Tankersley of Colorado City; 5 daughters, Mrs. Cleo Taylor of Colorado City, Mrs. Pauline Bell of Odessa, Mrs. Anita Butler of Denver City, Mrs. Billy Carpenter of Midland and Mrs. Shirley Lefler of Hobbs, New Mexico; a sister. Mrs. Laura Bell Carter of Louisville, 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren
