ObituaryGOSS, SIDONA REGINA URBAN - of Knoxville, Lovingly known as Dona, Grandma and Nonny, went peacefully to be with our Lord Friday, August 29, 2008. Dona joined many loved ones who were most anxiously awaiting her arrival, especially her son, Joel Mark Goss. She was dearly loved during her 88 years by many and will be greatly missed. Dona grew up in the rural farm community of Lowake, Texas. After graduating from Paint Rock High School, she continued her education at Southwest Texas Teachers College in San Marcos and lovingly taught many students in several grades in Texas, Tennessee and Virginia. Her happiest years were spent teaching hearing impaired children in Fairfax, Virginia, touring Washington, D.C., and bird watching. A devoted mother and loyal friend, Dona will be remembered for her homemade bread, chicken and dumplings, kuliches, and eggs ala goldenrod. Many gardens have been blessed by her green thumb. One of her very favorite pastimes was spent curled up in a chair while reading a good book eating chocolate.
