Bio

John Murray Tucker, 58, of 13520 El Dorado Dr., Seal Beach, Calif., died Wednesday while vacationing in Nassau, Bahamas. Mr. Tucker was a native of Escambia County, but had resided in California since his retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1947, where he was employed with the 7-Up Bottling Co. He was a member of the Service Lodge No. 594 F & AM in Long Beach, Calif. and attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Kathryn M. Tucker of Seal Beach; a son, Alan Tucker of San Jose, Calif; two brothers, Lonnie P Tucker of Molino and Gilbert W. Tucker of Pine Barren; two sisters, Azalene Allen and Lois Turpin, both of Pensacola; and three grand-daughters. Funeral services were Weds, 13 Sep 1978 at Highland Baptist Church in Molino with Rev. J.W. DuBose officiating. Active pallbearers were Albert Hassebrock, Chester Cooper, Leo Kimmons, Lamar Allen, Tom Servise and W.T. Harrit. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Allen, Ron Manson, Charles Hendrix, Bill Newton, Bruce Allen, Roy Findley, Eubie Allen and Ernest Helms. Burial [was] in the Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.
