Bio

The Cameron Herald July 24, 2009 Hertenberger Ida Hertenberger, 93, of Cameron died July 19 in a Cameron nursing center. Funeral services were held July 21 at St. Monica's Catholic Church with Rev. Juan Carlos Lopez officiating. Burial followed in the St. Monica's Cemetery. A rosary was recited July 20 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Hertenberger was born Nov. 3, 1915 in the Ad Hall community of Milam County to Frank and Philomena (Reineke) Marak. She married Adolph Hertenberger Jan. 26, 1937. She had worked for Hensley Russell Manufacturing and then later for Colonial Nursing Home in Cameron. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and St. Monica's Ladies Society. She is preceded in death by her husband Adolph Hertenberger; two brothers, Bruno Marak and Roman Marak; three sisters, Della Bayer, Lydia Turnidge, and Mickey Dimock; and great grandson Andrew Collins. Survivors include her son David Hertenberger and wife Martha of Cameron; daughters Joyce Vaculin and husband Emil of Cameron and Patricia Thompson and husband Dewey of Cameron; sister Bertha Faichtinger of Cameron; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron was in charge of arrangements.
