Obituary published 29 Jul 2009 in "The Madisonville Meteor", Madisonville, TX: Floyd Daniel McMahon, age 87 of Conroe, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Conroe. Mr. McMahon was born on April 14, 1922, in the Rock Prairie Community of Madison County to Arthur and Cordy Jane Painter McMahon. He was raised in Madison County but lived most of his life in the Houston area. He worked as a welder in the construction business and was of the Baptist faith. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Lloyd Manuel McMahon, and brothers Plumer McMahon, A.G. McMahon, Clyde McMahon and E. D. McMahon. Mr. McMahon is survived by stepson Victor Dickson of Conroe; daughter Lillian Ann Nicholson; brother Woodrow McMahon of North Zulch, and sister Ada Belle Pullen of Jacksonville. A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 25, at the Rock Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Madisonville Funeral Home.
