Bio

Born December 2, 1913 in Waxahachie. Texas to Walter and Clora Bearden. Lived in Cockrell Hill, Texas for 52 years. Survived by wife of 63 years, Inez; son, Gary; daughter, Cheryl Walker and husband Alvin; grandsons, Robbie and Ryan Harris; sister. Nellie Crow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Wilma and J.B.Underwood, Lemuel and Frankie Lord, Evelyn Lord, 8 nieces and 13 nephews; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Lloyd and Opal Bearden; W.H. and Faye Bearden; Wayne and Connie Bearden; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ray Crow; Edward Lord; Annie Lee Lord; Thurber and Dahlia Lord. He served in the 143rd Infantry of the Army during WWII and received a purple heart. He also served in the Air Force ~during the Korean War. He retired from Southwestern Transportation. He was a long time member and deacon at Hampton Place Baptist Church-now Cockrell Hill Baptist Church where he worked in the nursery, drove the church van, helped with ESL classes and sang in the Senior Choir.
