Joseph William Hatke married Katherine (Gerdes) Hoelscher on 21 Jan 1896 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Teutopolis, Effingham Co., Illinois. ********************** Wm. Hatke of Douglas township died around ten o'clock a.m. at his home northeast of Effingham, after an illness of a few days. Age 69 years. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock in St. Anthony's Church, Effingham followed by interment of body in parish cemetery. Relatives and neighbors largely attended the obsequies. Rev. Charles Schlepphorst, assistant pastor, officiated. Deceased is survived by his wife, three children: Mrs. Ed Willenborg, Greencreek; Ferd of Shumway and Tony northwest of Teutopolis; two brothers, John and Joseph of Teutopolis; four sisters, Mrs. Clem Wente and Barney Wente of Teutopolis, Mrs. Ed Deiterman of Tours, Texas and Mrs. John Deiterman of Westphalia, Texas; and four stepchildren: Mrs. George Hille, Mrs. Henry Doedtmann, Ben and Henry Hoelscher.
