Bio

Mrs. Dora Bruton, 86, resident of Pemiscot County for 34 years, died Wednesday, May 11, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital. She was born at Waynesboro, Tenn. September 21, 1879 and was the daughter of Henry and Martha Lee. On August 19, 1901, in Waynesboro, she was married to William D. Bruton, who preceded her in death on October 28, 1957. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Paul Vining officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery. She leaves a son, Grady Bruton of Benton Harbor, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Walker of Steele, Mrs. Mildred B. Davis, Mrs. Lucille Riggs and Mrs. Willie Belle Duckworth of Caruthersville; three brothers, Culley, Holbert and Clifford Lee; two sisters, Dealie Bruton and Mrs Ida Casteele; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
