She retired as a teacher with Epiphany Cathedral School, Venice. She was a Methodist. Survivors include a son, John L. of White Springs; a stepson, Carey A. of Cowan, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Ethlyn of Fort Myers and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; sisters Gray Best of Mobile, Ala., and Lillis May of Winfield, Ala.; and a granddaughter. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today at Ewing Funeral Home, Venice. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Foundation of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
