Lewiston Morning Tribue, Sunday, February 20, 1977: William Strange succumbs at 76 Retired delivery truck driver William Walker Strange, 76, of 1512 18th Ave, died Saturday of a heart attack at Lewiston's St. Joseph Hospital. Strange was employed as a warehouse man and delivery truck driver for the now defunct Mason-Ehrman Company, a wholesale food outlet. He, also, worked for a utility firm at Oakland, California from 1922 to 1929. An avid angler and camper, Strange enjoyed traveling. He was born November 5, 1901 at Waterville, Kansas, to William and Carrie Strange. He moved to Lewiston in 1929 from California. Strange and the former Stella E. Stout were married here February 14, 1931. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1918 to 1922. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a brother, and step-son. Strange is survived by his widow at Lewiston; a son, William Strange of Lewiston; three brothers, Harley Pugh in Texas, Oscar Pugh in Colorado, and Arthur Pugh in California; a sister Marguerite Killian in California; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at the Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home. The Rev. Leonard R. White of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial follows at Normal Hill Cemetery.
