Samuel and Nancy had another daughter, Sarah A. Garrett, born in DeSoto County, Mississippi in 1860. She was overweight and tended to waddle as she walked, thus her nickname was "duck". We'd love to find her family line if anyone knows anything about her. ∼ Died on last Sunday night, Mr. Samuel Garrett, an old and respected citizen of this county. He fell a victim of pneumonia. His funeral occurred on Monday afternoon and was conducted by the Farmers' Alliance, of which he was a prominent member. In his death we realize that the county has lost one of its most valuable citizens. Mr. Garrett was beloved by all who knew him, and when his body was borne to Oak Grove Cemetery here an immense concourse of his brethren and friends followed to pay their last tribute of respect to him.
