~ Donald Bunch Obituary ~ Former local resident Donald Ray Bunch, 73, passed away Dec. 5, 2008, at his home in Madera, Calif. He was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Oklahoma to Thomas and Josie Bunch. He lived in the local area for more than 40 years. Mr. Bunch served in the Army as a paratrooper from 1952 to 1956. He was a shift foreman for the Reynolds Cable Plant before retiring in 1991, and was a Cowlitz County Sheriff Reserve Officer for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, photography and his family. He will remembered as a happy-go-lucky family man who enjoyed long conversations with everyone he met. He married Ellen Berniece Curtis in 1957. She survives him at home. Also surviving are three daughters, Ann Brewer of Longview, Cindy Carlson of Camas, Wash., and Charlotte Grochow of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Cecil Bunch; three sisters, Sue Hickman and Christine Simmons, both of Winlock, and Tencie Strickland in New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Stephen Brewer of Castle Rock, Phillip Brewer of Longview, Eric Gjesvold of Camas, Nathen Grochow and Marci Hubbard, both of Phoenix and Nina and Kristi Grochow, both of San Diego, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren, Maria, Preston, Drake, Jaden, Mason and Kaylyn. Mr. Bunch was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Bunch. No service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Bellmont Memorial Park in Fresno, Calif.
