Bio

Inez Walls Detterman Holmes' parents were Collie B. Walls and Augusta Poteet. Inez married Fred Leo Detterman on July 31, 1933. She then married Glen Herbert Holmes on November 14, 1962. -------------------------- Mrs. Inez Holmes, 86, of Bellmead, died June 3, 2000, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Ron Bradford and the Rev. Marion Ford officiating. Interment will take place at Waco Memorial Park. Mrs. Holmes was born July 31, 1913, in Mart, Texas, to Collie B. and Augusta Poteet Walls. She was married to Fred Detterman who passed away March 9, 1979. She was then married to Glen Holmes who died August 12, 1986. Mrs. Holmes was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Bellmead and was also a longtime member of Bellmead Rebekah Lodge. Mrs. Holmes was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Maler, four brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, O.B. and A.C. Walls; and a sister, Jesse Mae Odle. She is survived by three daughters, Irene Barber and Evelyn Maler of Arlington, Texas and JoAnn McMillan and her husband Bryant of Lacy-Lakeview; a stepdaughter, Carmen Keiningham and her husband Kenny; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael McMillan, Keith McMillan, Richard Maler, Jim Ewings, Rick Roan and Matthew McMillan. Connally Compton Funeral Home, Waco, Texas.
