Clara Mae Swindle - SOUTHMAYD - Services for Clara Mae Swindle, 83, of Southmayd, TX, will be held Monday, December 20, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Blain of Southmayd Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Kendall Chapel Cemetery in Southmayd, TX. Pallbearers will be Jeff Swindle, Nick Fajerson, Dow Neal, Mike Jones, Brooks Frith and Bart Mitchell. Mrs. Swindle was born on Thursday, January 27, 1921 in Cooper, TX to the late James and Annie Mabel (Berry) Wester. Clara attended and graduated from Dorchester Public Schools. Mrs. Swindle married Loyd L. Swindle on November 28, 1942 in Sherman, TX. He preceded her in death December 31, 2002. Mr. and Mrs. Swindle lived in Southmayd for over 55 years. Clara is survived by her sons, Jerry Swindle and wife, Donna, Larry Swindle and wife, Shirley, all of Sherman, TX, daughter, Patty Swindle of Sherman, TX; brothers, Winston Wester of Howe, TX, Charles Wester of Collinsville, TX, Calvin Wester of Odessa, TX and Don Wester of Sherman, TX; sisters, Freda Bicknell of Fort Worth, TX and Mary Adkisson of Odessa, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wayne Swindle of Plano, TX, Laura Fajerson and Jeff Swindle of Sherman, TX; step-grandchildren, Dow Neal of Sherman, TX, Corie Mahan of Whitewright and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Pauline Wilson, brothers, Billy Wester and Loyd Wester, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Swindle and great-grandson, Toby Swindle. Family will receive friends at the Waldo Funeral Home Sunday, December 19, 2004 from 7-8 p.m. Herald Democrat (Dec/20/2004)
