His parents were John Belden Billingsley and Mary Wallace. Mattie Harris married Abner D. Billingsley on 31 March 1887 at Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas. Abner D. Billingsley was considered to be one of the best blacksmith and machinists in Young County, Texas.
