He was born July 21,1922 in Malakoff, Texas to Lone Ridge and Lillie Tiner. He married Margaret Crouch in Waco in 1949, which resulted 58 years of marriage, which ended in her passing in 2007. David served 4 years in the Navy during WWII as a Radarman on the USS Lawrence. Me. Tiner proudly served his country from 1942 until Dec 1945, when he was honorably discharged.David earned a BA in 1949 and an MA in 1950 from Baylor University. He began a 37 year long teach- ing career, beginning in Waco and ending in Crane with his retirement in 1987. David was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his parents; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters. He is survived by his three children; three grand- children; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends and former students.
