Mr. Vose was born September 24, 1924, in Kit Carson County, CO to Quintin Arthur and Orva Ann McQueen Vose. He graduated from Milburn High School in Nebraska. He had worked on a ranch and had also farmed for a number of years. He married Lucille Wolf on January 26, 1944, in Sargent, NE. They lived in Kansas for a number of years. In 1971 the couple moved to Glasgow from Grain Valley, MO. Mr. Vose worked for Standard Havens retiring in 1986. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, knife maker, and guitar player. He loved being with his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Lucile of the home, ten children, Marcile and John Whipple of Lake Lotawanna, Charles and Janet Vose and Richard and Aida Vose all of Sedalia, Margaret Ann and Bret Fike and Vivian and Randy McMillan all of Glasgow, Gregory Vose of Montevallo, MO, Susan and Richard Brown of Salisbury, Cynthia and Alan Harper of Marshall and Thomasa and Lawrence Butler of Slater, Phillip and Kathy Vose of Armstrong, 29 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Eileen Christian of Broken Bow, NE and Irma Hickman of Bassett, NE. Besides his parents, Glen was preceded in death by two children, Virginia and Stanley, and one sister, Jean Novak. A funeral mass was 10:30 AM May 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Mike Penn officiating. Visitation was 6 to 8 PM Wednesday evening with a prayer service at 8 PM at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Washington Cemetery with Toby McMillan, Cameron McMillan, Jake Whipple, Dakota Elliott, Joshua Vose, and Dan Parks III serving as pallbearers. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's School or the Glasgow Senior Center.
