Bio

SHIVER Mr. Charles E. Shiver—Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at 10:00 am from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Rev. Allan Eldridge officiating. Pallbearers were Patrick Sullivan, James Breckenridge, Bill Nippert, Larry Shiver, Wayne Rowe, and Andrew Jones. Mr. Shiver served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 1/2 years and obtained the rank of Chief Master Sargent. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Upon retirement from the Air Force Mr. Shiver was employed with the State of Alabama Department of Veteran Affairs until his second retirement at age 60. He then spent his time with his two favorite hobbies, as a master gardener and woodworking. He is survived by three children, Terrell (Terry) W. Shiver, Sharon Shiver Jones (Andrew) and Susan Shiver Young (Edric). He also leaves to cherish his memory six grandchildren Jessica Young, Christopher Young, Stephen Shiver, Hannah Jones, Matthew Jones and Abigail Jones. He is also survived by two brothers, Mr. Larry W. Shiver and Mr. John J. Shiver, Jr., both of Atmore, AL. Interment was in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by SERENITY FUNERAL HOME, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Mobile, AL.
