Annie Louise (McKeand) Fox was born June 15, 1910 in Kempner, Texas, and was the youngest of nine children. She attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Lampasas, Texas, and then went on to receive her degree from Texas A&I at Kingsville, TX. She taught 14 years throughout Texas before coming to McAllen where she taught for 18 years at Navarro Elementary School. Ann was a dedicated and beloved fourth-grade teacher for 32 years from 1928 to 1978. She loved every child that she taught like each was her own, even though she never had children of her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney McKeand from London England and Margaret Louisa (Handley) from Wiltshire, England. Also, preceding her in death were her five brothers; and three sisters, Mrs. Cecil N. Green (Mary) of McAllen, Mr. Sidney McKeand of Harlingen, Texas, Mr. Leonard McKeand of Raymondville, Texas, Mr. Bernard McKeand of Amarillo, Mr. Jack McKeand of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Henry Baldridge (Dorothy) of Amarillo, Texas, Mr. Robert McKeand of California, Miss Maggie McKeand, and her nephew, David McKeand. Ann is survived by Mrs. Steve Atwood (Mary Ann) of McAllen, Mrs. Charles Collins (Sandra Kay) of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Maurice McKeand of Bay City, Texas, Mrs. William E. Pietro (Betty) of Harlingen, Texas, Mrs. Nicolas Schell (Helen) of Glendora, Calif., Mrs. Tom Pendigraph (Betty) of Amarillo, Texas, Mr. Stanley Baldridge of Amarillo, Mrs.Rick Sharp (Donna) of Boerne, Texas, Mrs. Rey Ramos (Lori) of Edinburg, Texas, Mrs. Harold Mican (Lisa) of Austin, Texas, Mr. Troy Atwood of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mrs Darin Cottrell (Leah) of Mission and Mrs. David McKeand (Donelda) of McAllen, and many, many more. Visitation for her will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Kreidler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Lyford Evergreen Cemetery in Lyford, Texas.
