Bessie Strong Bair Services for Bessie Strong Bair, 81, Nyssa, who died October 4, 1979 at Roy, Utah, were conducted Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, Nyssa, by Elder Gary Fife. Interment was in the Nyssa Cemetery, under the direction of the Nyssa Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel. She was born December 20, 1897, at Alpine, Utah, to Don Carlos and Alice Carlisle Strong. She was reared and educated at Alpine. She married Eugene Moroni Bair on February 8, 1917, at Salt Lake City. They lived at Woods Cross, Utah, before moving in 1944 to Nyssa, where they farmed. She was a member of the Nyssa 1st Ward LDS Church and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Surviving are a son, Sterling Bair of Ontario, Oregon; three daughters, Aspen Cleverly of Moses Lake, Wash., Carol Bell of Roy, Utah, and Mary Brice of Meridian; a sister, Julia Little of Salt Lake City; 46 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters and two sons.
