QUANAH - Joe Collier Lindsey, 58, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Hollinshead, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating, and the Rev. Ron Fox, interim pastor of First Baptist Church, assisting. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Lindsey was born Oct. 21, 1950, in Quanah, son of the late Jimmie Collier and Gretta May Horton Lindsey. He married Vicky Fisher on July 11, 1970, in Quanah. He was a 1969 graduate of Quanah High School. In 1973, he graduated from Tarleton State College with a B.S. in general ag. He was a rancher, a member of Alpha Zeta ag fraternity and past president of Quanah Riding Club, and he served on the board of Quanah and Hardeman County livestock associations. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eddie Nan Turlington. Survivors include his wife, Vicky Lindsey of Quanah; two daughters, Jaime Mathews and husband Dennis and Jenny Jo Barker and husband Nathan, all of Quanah; and two grandsons, Kyle and Kason. The family suggests memorials be to Hardeman County Memorial Hospital, 402 Mercer St., Quanah, TX 79252; Quanah Livestock Show; or Quanah Riding Club. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, June 13, 2009
