Bio

Emmett's mother was Nancy Jane Moses Burton, a daughter of Joel Moses of Ouachita County, Arkansas. His father was Thomas "Archie" Burton, a son of John Archibald Burton of Ouachita County, Arkansas. Some Web transcriptions of his tombstone state that the tombstone reads 1889-1919--probably an error in transcribing the data to the Web. Emmett and his first wife Myrtle Miller were the parents of: Homer Lee Burton Fairy Bell Burton Shelton Lola Mae Burton Sanders J. B. Burton Emmett and Vera had no children. The picture of the people on the bridge is of Emmett Burton, his daughter Lola Burton Sanders, and his grandchild Shirley Sanders. It was taken in the early 1940s, probably in Louisiana.
