Bio

Myrtle Womack, 95, died Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Valley Fair Lodge. She was a long time resident of Mitchell County. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Julius Early officiating. Burial was in Cuthbert, under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. She was born Myrtle Johnson June 6, 1891 in Granbury, Hood County, Texas and was married to Rufus Lee Womack November 18, 1908 in Lipan, Texas. He died October 13, 1918. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Horace (Red) Womack of Fairfield, California; two step-grand- children, Shan Carver of Fairfield, California and David Eger of Benicia, California; and five step-great-grandchildren.
